Family portraits are wonderful.  That is of course if you can get everyone through the studio door.  Get everyone to go with a common theme.  Jeans and white tee shirts, kakis and red polo shirts, etc.  If you have a large family consider each part of the family having a different color combo.  Maybe just the opposite of other family members.  The main thing is to try to blend with colors so nobody sticks out.
